Project Objectives:

Project objectives are as follow as;

  • Identify 50 needy women workers from the informal sector
  • Imparting garment/textile, Gloves, Shuttle and Beautician industry related  skill training to fifty (50) women/girls workers for
  • Mobilize the relevant industrial units   for providing Work Order women /girls’ workers with social security benefits.
  • Development of linkages with financial service provider of these women workers
  • Provide facilitation to women workers for starting their small level business
  • Provide facilitation to women workers for open bank accounts.

1.Inputs provided for Women’s Entrepreneurship and Gender-Responsive Procurement.

a.Training on locally marketable income generating skills. In consideration of the skills demanded in local labor market and the possibility of the persistent availability of the production orders training was imparted to the number of women listed below against each skill category.

b.Capacity Building Interventions.

Opening bank Accounts Fifty Two(52)  Women Entrepreneurs were facilitated to open accounts in the  banks in convenience to them.

Access to Micro Finance Institute  Thirty (30) needy and willing women entrepreneurs were facilitated in obtaining loans for setting up and running their enterprises.

Linkages Development and mentoring support 1.      Developed linkages between 52 women entrepreneurs the women Resource Center & SME committee of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

2.      All the 52 women have been linked with five (5) factories and nine (9) sub-contractors for obtaining production orders.

Exposure Visit to successful women-led enterprises With the support provided by SRSP and Sungi Development Foundation exposure of successfully running micro enterprises was provided a group of 24 women entrepreneurs to the women led enterprises in Hari Pur.

Support to assure quality in manufacturing of the marketable stuff. For ensuring quality of the products and for  facilitation  in preparation of  samples to  attracting more work orders from markets technical support is being provided to  the women-led enterprises at Jorian kalan,  Fazal Pura, Bhanokay and Jhariyanwala

2.Accomplishments :

a. All the trained 52 women have set up and are running their enterprises. These women have been become members of the “Outreach programme of Women Resource Center at Sialkot chamber of Commerce & industries” The strengthening of their business is destined to enable them to be the regular members of SCCI for having access to national and international level business opportunities.

b. All the 16 women trained in E-Marketing have set up their business pages on face book and one of them has begun receiving production orders for Sportswear.
